On 8 June 2023, Elgin White joined more than 300 supporters of our Charity of the Year KidsOut, to raise funds for disadvantaged children. The UK-based “fun and happiness” charity creates positive experiences for these children, to support them in becoming successful members of society and the workforce in the future.
The KidsOut annual ‘Question of Sport’ event, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, is a lively and entertaining affair that enjoys strong support from business communities around the globe, as well as sporting celebrities and legends. The Quiz Master for this year’s event was former Liverpool FC defender, radio, TV, and internet pundit Mark Lawrenson. Although donations are still being counted and verified, they look set to reach six figures.
Elgin White was joined by ten clients, partners, and friends who enjoyed a champagne reception and dinner before our sporting knowledge was put to the test in the quiz, and funds were raised from the silent auction. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this worthy cause, and to Elgin White co-founder Neil Smith who has been an active KidsOut Committee Member for more than a decade.
Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse and seek sanctuary in refuge. KidsOut is the only charity nationally to support every child in a Women’s Aid Federation refuge, providing toys, days out, workshops, and more.
Erik Schutte, Global Director at Elgin White said: “As well as raising funds for such a worthwhile cause it was great to have the opportunity to spend time with clients and partners in such a relaxed and fun-filled way. It is gratifying to know that funds and time donated by Elgin White to KidsOut will be used to help install and maintain technology and internet connectivity within Women’s Aid refuges, to provide residents with access to learning tools and online entertainment.”
